Guides select ‘best values’ in education

ON THE GREEN | Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine, the Princeton Review and USA Today all recently named UD among the nation’s best values in public higher education.

“Best Value Colleges for 2011” features 50 public and 50 private colleges and universities and was posted Feb. 22 on the websites of The Princeton Review and USA Today. After the top 10 in each category, the other institutions weren’t numerically ranked.

Princeton Review editors wrote, “Delaware students benefit from a series of signature academic programs, including the First Year Experience and University Honors programs, and service-learning, study abroad, and undergraduate research opportunities.”

Criteria included academics, cost of attendance and financial aid.

Kiplinger’s announced its top-100 list in its February issue, with UD named as one of the “four-year institutions that deliver a stellar education at an affordable price.” Rankings were based on academic quality as well as on cost and financial aid.
