About UD Police Services The University of Delaware campus is a unique community that presents special challenges. The University Police provide traditional police services on campus and are trained to understand the pressures and needs of students, faculty, and staff. The University Police embrace the concept of community policing and are particularly responsive to the needs of the University's diverse campus community.
UD Police Officers Officers are an integral part of the educational process. They are often called upon to speak on such varied topics as sexual assault, drugs, crime prevention, and personal and traffic safety. It is expected that campus police officers develop and maintain a positive relationship with students, faculty, and staff in order the ensure the safety and cooperation of the entire campus community. Whatever the assignment, wherever the opportunity, University Police officers perform their duties consistent with the educational mission of the University of Delaware.
