Prof. Klemas wins Fulbright to teach in Lithuania
He is one of four UD faculty teaching abroad under the Fulbright Scholar Program this year. Klemas also has been asked by Klaipeda to develop a remote-sensing program there and to serve as a chair for the second U.S./E.U. Baltic International Symposium, with 130 speakers from 18 European countries and the U.S., scheduled for May 23-25, in Klaipeda. Klemas received a doctorate in optical physics from the University of Braunschweig in Germany and joined the UD faculty in 1979. During his tenure as professor of geography and electrical engineering at UD, he codirected UDs Center for Remote Sensing for 30 years and directed UDs Applied Ocean Science Program from 1981-98. |
