The University of Delaware Figure Skating Club (UDFSC) was chartered in January 1986. The UDFSC is dedicated to supporting skaters and the sport of figure skating in association with the United States Figure Skating (USFS) and the University of Delaware's Ice Skating Science Development Center. The UDFSC boasts over 400 members and is one of the larger figure skating clubs in the United States. We typically send three dozen or more skaters to U.S. Nationals, Jr. Olympics, and Adult Nationals, and four synchronized skating teams to U.S. Synchronized Team Skating Nationals. Many recent Winter Olympics have included US competitors from UDFSC. The UDFSC is managed by a board of directors, elected by its membership, and is governed by its By-Laws, USFS, and to a lesser extent by the University of Delaware. In addition to the activities described in this brochure, the UDFSC helps to purchase Nationals warm-ups for qualifying club members and equipment for UD's strength training room. We sponsor qualifying and non-qualifying competitions such as 1995 South Atlantics, 1996 Eastern Precision Championship, and 1999 Theatre On Ice. |

WHO ARE OUR MEMBERS?
UDFSC members include nationally ranked pairs, dance, freestyle, Moves In The Field (MITF), and synchronized team skating members. Other members include skaters testing dance, freestyle, or MITF as well as judges and coaches.
