Mays, or DJ Amaze, is a well-known disc jockey in the Blue Hen community. The Dec. 1 webinar led by Mays provides helpful insight into the world of music technology and how he has navigated his career as an entrepreneur.

'Resilience Engineering'

The University of Delaware's Nii Attoh-Okine recently published a new book with Cambridge University Press, "Resilience Engineering: Models and Analysis."

Reviresco June run

UD ROTC cadets will run from New York City to Miami this month to raise awareness about veterans' affairs.

Mays offered alumni and students an hour of solid career advice and dramatic stories, including meeting with celebrities Kanye West and Pitbull, both of whom have inspired him to continue to pursue a career in music.

“I believe UD really gave me the tools and resources I needed to interact with folks I had nothing in common with. UD exposed me and opened my mind to different things I didn’t know growing up in Wilmington and Philadelphia. I’ve been able to meet new people and share new experiences, and all of that is thanks to my experience in the classroom,” said Mays.

In the webinar, Mays explained how he used those tools to maximum advantage, leveraged his network as a resource and built a professional reputation. He also discussed the difference between being self-employed and an entrepreneur.

It is hoped that listeners will come away inspired to embrace a positive attitude as they continue down the path of their dream careers. To check out the recording, click here.

The webinar was co-sponsored by the UD Office of Alumni Relations, UD Student Alumni Ambassadors, UD Career Services Center and the Horn Program in Entrepreneurship.
