According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, keeping hands clean is one of the most important steps to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.
To help you heed this advice, hand sanitizer stations are available at key locations, including all dining halls, the Carpenter Sports Building, the Bob Carpenter Center, the Trabant University Center, the Perkins Student Center and the Morris Library.
Remember to wash your hands:
• Before, during, and after preparing food,
• Before eating food,
• Before and after caring for someone who is sick,
• Before and after treating a cut or wound,
• After using the toilet,
• After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing,
• After touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste,
• After handling pet food or pet treats and
• After touching garbage.
For students who become sick, the Student Health Service in Laurel Hall is open 24/7.
Faculty and staff who are sick should consult their personal physicians or visit the University's Nurse Managed Health Center.
