TEXT SIZE

2:55 p.m., Feb. 12, 2015--State legislators will receive assistance from 13 University of Delaware students, who will serve as Legislative Fellows, in addressing critical issues facing Delawareans during the 2015 legislative session.

Since 1982, the Legislative Fellows Program — a 34-year partnership between the University of Delaware and the Delaware General Assembly — has provided students the opportunity to staff committees, conduct non-partisan research and respond to constituent concerns.

Reviresco June run

UD ROTC cadets will run from New York City to Miami this month to raise awareness about veterans' affairs.

In addition to their service to the state, students gain valuable skills and insight into the law-making process.

Candidates from UD, Delaware State University and Wesley College apply through a competitive selection process. Selected students intern for the General Assembly three days each week from January through June.

In recent years, fellows have researched multiple public policy issues such as land-use planning, education reform, and juvenile justice.

This year’s rigorous application process produced a class of 13 graduate and undergraduate UD students.

  • Elizabeth Gibson, 4+1 bachelor of arts and master of public administration (MPA) student majoring in public policy and international relations with a minor in political communication;
