Employee-only fitness classes are open to all employees and retirees and their spouses.
This semester, the program has added a morning boot camp class to jump start the day and a ballet burn class to lengthen and strengthen muscles. Other fitness classes include yoga, Zumba and Cardio Tone.
Classes are open to people of all fitness levels and cost $25 wellness dollars for the entire semester.
Employees may also register now for the spring wellness challenge, “Passport -- Round Trip to Health,” which will run for eight weeks from March 23-May 17.
Similar to the fall “Walktober” program, participants create a personal online account to receive daily wellness tips and have a chance to “travel” virtually to scenic venues across the globe. Participants track their daily steps of walking or other forms of physical activity and also earn points for healthy eating habits.
A wireless Fitbit Zip activity tracker is available for purchase at a discount as part of the challenge.
Program registration is open now through March 13 for those who would like to purchase a Fitbit and through March 19 for those who already have a Fitbit, or who would like to log their steps manually online.
UD faculty, staff and retirees have until June 30 to redeem their wellness dollars for the 2014-15 fiscal year.
