Author to discuss experience as a victim of kidnapping and abuse
1:19 p.m., April 22, 2013--As a continuation of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, University of Delaware Student Wellness and Health Promotion will sponsor “How She Survived Five-day Kidnapping and Rape” with author and lecturer Debra Puglisi-Sharp at 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, in 111 Memorial Hall.
In 1998, Puglisi-Sharp was attacked in her Delaware home and abused by her captor for five days. Now a victims’ rights speaker, she discusses her ordeal and the resulting difficulties with audiences. Puglisi-Sharp also authored a book about her horrifying experience, titled Shattered.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K
University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.
June 6-9: Food and culture series
The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.
Following the lecture, Sexual Offense Support (S.O.S.) will host a group interaction at 6:30 p.m.
