Requesting a Drupal Site
To request a Drupal site, send e-mail to email@example.com or call the IT Help Center at 302-831-6000. You will need to provide all of the following information:
- The name you would like for the site (e.g., www2.udel.edu/your_site_name***).
- The employee ID number of the site administrator.
- The e-mail address of the site administrator.
- The UDelNet ID of the site administrator.
After you submit the request, you will be contacted by an IT staff member to confirm these details. The request will then be submitted, and you will be notified when your site is available. New Drupal site administrators and content providers are encouraged to register for training opportunities offered by IT to help guide them with site creation, development, and design.
At this time, UDrupal sites can be set up as subdirectory sites (www2.udel.edu/your_site_name, conferences.udel.edu/your_site_name) or subdomain sites (your_site_name.udel.edu). If you wish to use a subdomain for your site (your_site_name.udel.edu), you will need to make a separate request to firstname.lastname@example.org to establish and configure this subdomain for your new site.
If you are interested in using www.udel.edu/your_site_name, you will need to request a server redirect, so that users will be pointed to the UDrupal server for your site. The domains are not crawled by Web search engines while on the UDrupal development server.
