University of Delaware students are involved in in- depth service projects through Registered Student Organizations, Residence Life and the Office of Service Learning. These utilize a variety of approaches to explore a society problem.
Type of project: Alternative Break
Title of project: UDaB
Community Partners: Communities throughout the United States.
Description of Project: The University of Delaware Alternative Breaks program immerses student-led teams in direct service and experiential learning with community organizations to increase knowledge of social justice issues and encourage life-long active citizenship.
As UDaB begins its fourth year, it is expanding to offer additional trips and collaborating with the Blue Hen Leadership Program, the Honors Program, Residence Life, and School of Nursing. These students will pursue projects related to food insecurity and homelessness, disaster recovery, education, environmental issues, health, and migration.
