bullet The Lighter Side

Writing, thinking and class participation (more than mere attendance) are critical elements of this class. Please remember that (just as in the real-world media) timeliness counts; late assignments will automatically lose credit. Your grades will be based on these elements:

  • Short assignments - all together 15% of grade
  • Analysis paper ("The Insider") - (3-5 pages) - 20% of grade
  • Analysis project ("Internet Credibility") (5 pages) - 20% of grade
  • Final exam paper (5-7 pages) - 40% of grade
  • Attendance & participation - 5% of grade

Note: Students missing more than three classes will experience an automatic grade reduction.

Take a look at an outstanding final paper, written by Chris Smith in December 2000.
