University of Delaware Women’s Club

UD Women’s Club membership is open to all women in the UD community, including UD faculty, staff and graduate students, or their spouses/partners, active and retired, as well as other women who support and would like to participate in the organization. We participate in activities around interests in trips, book clubs, stitchery and crafts, lectures and more. New ideas are always welcome. Since 1945, the University of Delaware Women's Club has:

  • welcomed newcomers to the UD community
  • fostered social and professional bonds through lectures and activities
  • raised scholarship funds for women’s continuing education

Congratulations to our friend and longtime UD Women’s Club member Beryl King on her 100th birthday this year. Arriving to UD in 1946 along with her husband -- J. Robert King, then a new professor who would develop UD’s curriculum in instrumental music education and applied music, as well form and direct the UD Marching Band beginning with its first appearance in 1947 -- Beryl is pictured here with her daughters next to a holiday tree honoring Prof. King. The King family supports UD’s J. Robert King Memorial Scholarship. To read more, please visit these articles: UD-themed tree honors the late J. Robert King (2009) or Fueled by philanthropy: Students meet their supporters at the annual Celebration of Scholarship (2019).
