Music fraternity to hold Music in Our Schools workshop

3:27 p.m., March 21, 2007--On Saturday, March 24, members of the Eta Rho college chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, the International Music Fraternity, and members of the Northern Delaware Alumnae Chapter of the same organization, will hold a music workshop for students at Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington as part of “Music in our Schools Month.”

Students will be shown various instruments, learn about the instrument's history and learn to play the instruments themselves.

Founded on June 12, 1903, at the University School of Music in Ann Arbor, Mich., Sigma Alpha Iota's mission is to encourage, nurture and support the art of music. The Eta Rho Chapter at UD was founded in 1990 and currently has 28 members. The Northern Delaware Alumnae Chapter was just formed in 2006 and currently has 21 members, nine of whom are UD alumni.
