1:46 p.m., June 7, 2007--Winning crab cake recipes are now being sought for the 2007 Coast Day Crab Cake Cook-Off, set to take place this October in Lewes.

Entries are due by Friday, Aug. 10, and eight finalists will be selected to compete for the cash prizes ($150 for first place, $100 for second place and $75 for third place). The top three finalists also will receive a plaque and recognition in the cook-off on Coast Day, which will take place on Sunday, Oct. 7, at UD's Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes.

Recipes are accepted from amateur and professional cooks from anywhere in the world, and winning recipes will be published in a commemorative Coast Day Crab Cake Cookbook, which will include recipes submitted since the cook-off contest's inception in 1990.
