Police investigate restaurant robbery 1:18 p.m., Nov. 12, 2004--Newark Police are investigating an armed robbery of Friendlys Restaurant on Elkton Road that occurred around 10 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11. A young man, 16-20 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black baseball hat and blue jeans, entered the restaurant and confronted a clerk at the take-out window. He displayed a black handgun and demanded money. The clerk handed him an undisclosed amount of cash, and he fled on foot, across Elkton Road and behind the businesses there. The victim was not injured. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed this incident is asked to call Det.
