Teachers of the Year honored One teacher from each Delaware school district received a certificate. Kathleen H. Tomas, Caesar Rodney, who was unable to be present because she was in Washington, D.C., attending a national State Teacher of the Year ceremony with President George W. Bush, was recognized as the 2005 Delaware State Teacher of the Year. Of the 19 Delaware Teachers of the Year, 11 had graduated or were enrolled at UD, including Cynthia Baker, Indian River; Barbara Borleske, Red Clay Consolidated; Paula Henderson, Christina; Sandra Lynn Krugh, Lake Forest; Elizabeth Morrison, Woodbridge; Shirley R. Moux, Colonial; Marilyn Neat, Laurel; Mary OConnell, Brandywine; Amanda Parisi, Milford; Veronica Perrine, Appoquinimink; and Raymond Theilacker, New Castle County Vo-Tech. Others honored as Teachers of the Year were John Augustus, Capital; Shauneen Guidice, Delmar; Charlene Jones, Cape Henlopen; Diane Marthaler, Smyrna; Lynne McIntosh, Polytech; Kimberly Myran, Seaford; and Sabrina Neal, Sussex Technical.
