Freshman student dies

4:25 p.m., April 21, 2005--Zenit Soto, a 19-year-old freshman in the Lerner College of Business and Economics from the Bronx, N.Y., died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 19, at Christiana Hospital.

On Tuesday morning, Ms. Soto went to Student Health Services where she was evaluated and had lab tests. A specialist at Christiana Hospital was contacted, and at 10:30 a.m., she was taken by Public Safety to the specialist’s office there. Later that day, her condition deteriorated and she died.

The state medical examiner’s office is conducting an autopsy.

Viewings for Ms. Soto will be held from 4-10 p.m., Saturday, April 23, and from 2-10 p.m., Sunday, April 24, at the R.G. Ortiz Funeral Home, 524 Southern Blvd., Bronx, N.Y. The funeral will be held there at 9 a.m., Monday, April 25.
