Police investigate Aug. 3 strong arm robbery

11:28 p.m., Aug. 3, 2005--Newark Police are investigating a strong arm robbery that occurred between 6:15 and 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3, on Ethan Allen Court in Newark.

A 38-year-old woman was robbed while she was walking to her car to go to work. A man in his late 30s approached her from behind and grabbed her. After threatening her and demanding money, he took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot. The woman was not injured in the attack.

A search of the surrounding area by Newark officers and a New Castle County Police canine unit was unsuccessful.

The suspect is described at 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 200 pounds. He was wearing a blue baseball camp, blue jeans and a black T-shirt.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Newark Police Department at (302) 366-7111 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
