Ludacris stair banners add splash at Trabant

4:54 p.m., May 6, 2005--A trio of gold-and-red stair banners at the Trabant University Center now adds a festive splash to the stairs leading off the Food Court, while reminding students about the upcoming Ludacris concert May 12 at The Bob.

A collaboration between Alex Keen, program coordinator at UD’s Student Centers, and Keith Heckert, art director in the Office of Public Relations, the banners complement the Ludacris concert flyer distributed earlier in the week and prompt those still needing tickets to purchase them soon.

“The origin for the stair banners came from a conference we attended on different advertising techniques that were effective,” Keen said, “and displaying the banners where we did was a no-brainer, because the majority of foot traffic at the Trabant University Center goes up the steps leading from Delaware Avenue.”

Ludacris’ songs have enjoyed widespread radio airplay and enormous popularity on MTV for the past five years, and the Atlanta-based rapper is one of today’s leading music world stars. He has produced several top-selling CDs since the late ’90s and enjoys frequent coverage in Rolling Stone Magazine.

Doors to the Thursday, May 12, concert open at 7 p.m., and tickets are still available at all UD box offices and Ticketmaster locations. Admission is $29.50 for UD students with valid ID and $39.50 for all others. The maximum number of tickets per student order is four.
