Southgate Gardens fire investigated

4:41 p.m., Oct. 4, 2005--Newark Police are conducting an arson investigation into a fire that occurred at about 8:15 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at the Southgate Gardens apartment complex on Marvin Drive in Newark.

A preliminary investigation by the Newark Police and the Newark fire marshal indicates that the fire was set intentionally. No injuries were reported in the fire, however the residents of the apartments have been displaced until repairs can be made.
