3:25 p.m., June 21, 2005--Roberto Feudale, a graduate student from Pennsville, N.J., has won the Glenn S. Skinner Memorial Award and a $2,500 stipend.

The award, given to a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry annually, honors the late Dr. Skinner, who was an active member of the department faculty for 30 years. It is awarded for distinction in scholarship, research and service.

Feudale’s academic record, his publication credits and his work as a teaching assistance led to his selection. He won an Elizabeth Dyer Excellence-in-Teaching Award for the 2000-01 academic year.

Feudale was nominated by fellow graduate student Anthony Myles, who cited his positive impact on other students through collaboration, theoretical discussion and constructive critical reviews.

Steven Brown, W.F. Harrington Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Feudale’s adviser, praised Feudale’s ability to present his work in an understandable manner and his skill as a scientific writer.
