Video profiles chemical engineer, educator
Russell, formerly the Universitys vice provost for research, discusses the importance of the classroom as a first step for students who will someday be solving engineering problems despite uncertain information and severe time constraints. Russell, who still teaches freshman students, makes it clear that, although he has served in several high-profile University posts, he is happiest in the classroom. Russell joins eight other named professors profiled in the continuing Windows on The Green series produced by Information Technologies-University Media Services in collaboration with the Office of Public Relations. The Windows on The Green series marks the endowment of UDs 100th named professorship last year. An endowed chair is one of the highest honors a faculty member can receive and one of the most important gifts a donor can make to the University. Photo by Kathy F.
