Police investigate Aug. 1 robbery at 7-11

12:39 p.m., Aug. 3, 2005--Newark Police are investigating an armed robbery of the 7-11 on Elkton Road that occurred around 10:15 p.m., Monday, Aug. 1.

A man, described as 20-25 years old, unshaven, with short dark hair and wearing a black T-shirt and dark-colored pants, entered the business and confronted an employee. He demanded that the cash register be opened while holding the employee at knifepoint. After taking an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the parking lot in a dark-colored vehicle. The employee was not injured.
