Police investigate July 26 robbery

8:49 a.m., July 28, 2005--Newark Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred around 10:50 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, in the parking lot behind the Post House Restaurant at 145 East Main St.

An 18-year-old woman from Newark was confronted by two men, one of whom displayed a small, silver handgun. They took her purse, containing a cell phone, currency and personal items. She was not injured.

One suspect is described as 5 feet 7 inches or 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build, beard, brown hair, wearing a white muscle T-shirt and blue denim shorts. The second suspect had the handgun and is described as 5 feet to 5 feet 2 inches tall, with a cornrow hairstyle, wearing a black muscle T-shirt and below-the-knee, black denim shorts.
