4:08 p.m., July 29, 2005--Work on improvements to Kirkwood Highway will begin Monday, Aug. 1, and continue through mid-September. The work will be done on both the eastbound and westbound lanes from Redmill Road to Limestone Road/Route 7.

Lane closures will occur from 8 p.m.-6 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays, but should have a minimal impact on motorists, according to DelDOT. Work will not take place on the weekends.

Maintenance work will include milling, patching and hot-mix overlay in addition to new curb ramps. Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the area.
