Students seek earthquake relief donations

5:36 p.m., Oct. 12, 2005--As heart-wrenching stories and photographs emerge in the aftermath of the earthquake in Pakistan, many at the University have asked how they can help the region to recover.

UD’s Pakistan Students Association is accepting donations for the Pakistan Embassy’s President's Relief Fund.

On campus, checks made out to President's Relief Fund may be sent by campus mail to graduate student Shahida Dar, president of the Pakistan Students Association, Department of Physics, or to Ismat Shah, professor of materials science and adviser to the association, 201 DuPont Hall.

There also will be a kiosk Thursday, Oct. 13, and Friday, Oct. 14, at the Trabant University Center, where cash and checks will be accepted for the relief fund.

Online contributions may be made directly to the President's Relief Fund at [www.embassyofpakistan.org].
