‘Love’s Labour Lost’ to be staged in Claymont

3:58 p.m., July 12, 2005--Love is in the air this summer as the Delaware Shakespeare Festival presents Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost from July 22 -Aug. 6 on the grounds of Archmere Academy in Claymont.

The festival celebrates classic theatre by staging Shakespeare for contemporary audiences. According to the Wilmington News Journal, the outdoor professional theater company presents “Shakespeare, as audiences like it.”

Love’s Labour’s Lost is the story of three noblemen who denounce all worldly pleasures, including women, to further their intellect. However, the plot thickens when the princess of France and her three beautiful ladies come to court. Witty repartee and sharp banter ensue while the women teach the men a lesson about love they will not find in their books.

Theatergoers are encouraged to arrive an hour before the play begins to picnic with family and friends. Audience members are advised to bring blankets and low-backed lawn or beach chairs for general admission lawn seating.

Tickets are $7. For more information and show times, visit the Delaware Shakespeare Festival web site at [www.delshakes.org] or call (302) 764-0113.
