Joyce Henderson heads career counseling group

Joyce Dennis Henderson
11:18 a.m., July 29, 2005--Joyce Dennis Henderson, assistant director for employer outreach and multi-ethnic programming at UD’s MBNA Career Services Center, has been elected the 35th president of the Mid-Atlantic Career Counseling Association (MACCA).

MACCA works to increase the effectiveness of career development and placement activities by encouraging an exchange of ideas and information among those in the field. The organization provides professional development resources for its 300 members from Delaware, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C., and holds two major conferences each year, featuring well-known professionals in the field of career counseling.

Henderson joined the UD staff in 1984 and assumed her current position in 2000 after working in employee services. A graduate of Salisbury State University, she received her master of public administration degree from UD in 1996.
