‘Engage’ in engineering

11:40 a.m., July 25, 2005--Find out all that’s new and exciting at the College of Engineering in the July 2005 edition of Engage, the college’s electronic newsletter.

Outstanding students, faculty and alumni and interesting research projects, such as high-tech landfills are highlighted, and there also is information about upcoming events.

In a cover letter to alumni, friends and colleagues, Dean Eric Kaler, Elizabeth Inez Kelly Professor of Chemical Engineering, said that summer is a time of “intensive activity” in research programs. His letter notes that the annual research expenditures for the fiscal year, which just ended, are almost $40 million, that 55 students earned their doctorates last year and that seven new faculty members, including four women, will be joining the engineering staff.
