Police investigate robbery on Elkton Road

1:01 p.m., June 30, 2005--Newark Police are investigating a robbery that occurred around 3 a.m., Thursday, June 30, at the Sunoco service station, 287 Elkton Rd.

Two men confronted two Sunoco employees inside the business. One man wearing a white cloth mask led one of the employees to the cash register, and he demanded that it be opened. After an undisclosed amount of money was removed, the two men fled, driving away in a blue, older model compact car. No one was injured in the incident.

The suspects are described as 20-25 years old, 5’6”-5’8” tall, with medium builds. One was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans, and the other was wearing a khaki-colored shirt.

Anyone with information should contact Det. Rieger of the Newark Police Department at (302) 366-7110, ext. 133, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
