UD student robbed on campus 1:30 p.m., April 27, 2005--A University of Delaware sophomore was robbed at approximately 4:15 a.m., Sunday, April 24, in an elevator in Christiana East Tower. The student was visiting a friend in Christiana East, and when he was leaving he stopped on another floor where he saw a group of people. When he decided to leave, four individuals, who also may have been visiting the building, offered to accompany him home. In the elevator, they assaulted the student, who suffered bruises on the side and back of his head, and took his UD ID card and bank card. The student told the suspects his PIN number, and his card was used at an automatic teller machine on Elkton Road. There also was an attempt to use the card at a gas station in Baltimore, but it was denied. The student did not require medical attention. The Criminal Investigations unit of University Police is investigating this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call (302) 831-2222. To learn how to subscribe to UDaily, click here. |
