DelaWorld jump-starts new students

7:35 p.m., June 22, 2005--DelaWorld 101 is the first important “course” for admitted freshmen and transfer students as they embark on their college careers. Scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays, from June 21-July 20 (except for July 1 and 4), DelaWorld officially welcomes new students to UD and provides a one-day orientation for them and their parents. (Click “The Faces of DelaWorld 2005” button at the top of this page and other UDaily articles to see some of the participants.)

The day begins with a continental breakfast and general welcome in the Trabant University Center. Then, students and parents separate for specific programs, meet for lunch and later attend separate afternoon programs.

DelaWorld student leaders host separate morning programs for parents and students. After reuniting for lunch, parents and students part again for afternoon sessions, including “Parents Like You” panel sessions and fall course registration sessions for new students.

For more information about DelaWorld, visit [www.udel.edu/admissions/viewbook/delaworld/expect.html] or call (302) 831-8125.
