Breast-health education benefit set Oct. 21

4:59 p.m., Oct. 18, 2005--The Biden Breast Health Initiative (BBHI) is hosting its third annual “Education For Life” benefit from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, at Shaggy’s on Main (45 E. Main St., Suite 200) to support National Mammography Day.

Jill and Joe Biden are hosting the benefit, where attendees can order meals and beverages, with a percentage of their purchase being donated to the BBHI Scholarship Fund. U.S. Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. is ranking Democrat on the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a 1965 UD graduate.

There also will be a chance to win a Hitachi 42” plasma HDTV, with all proceeds from the raffle benefiting the BBHI Scholarship Fund. Raffle tickets will sell for $10 per chance or three chances for $25.

The Biden Breast Health Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating young women to assume responsibility for their overall well-being, with a strong emphasis on breast health.

The BBHI Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to young women and men pursuing post-high school opportunities in health and education.
