Homecoming banners celebrate True Blue spirit

4:13 p.m., Sept. 30, 2005--Next weekend is Homecoming and, judging by the images displayed on the multicolored banners hanging from the ceiling of the Trabant University Center Food Court, the Pride of Hofstra are going to have their hands full when they meet the Fightin’ Blue Hens on Oct. 8 in Delaware Stadium.

The Homecoming Weekend Spirit banners, created by and showcasing the artistry of more than 30 student groups, including hall governments, will be on display till 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7, when a banner judging contest and spirit competition will be held on the Trabant University Center patio.

The winning team will parade its banner just ahead of the UD Marching Band and will help lead the Fightin’ Blue Hens onto Tubby Raymond Field at the Homecoming football game.

The contest is open to student groups only, but alumni are welcome to come and cheer on the groups.
