Police investigate robbery attempt

4:24 p.m., March 18, 2005--University Police are investigating the attempted robbery of a man that occurred around 12:15 a.m., Friday, March 18, in a UD parking lot off New London Road.

The victim, who is not a student, said he was accosted by a young man, about 6 feet tall with black spiked hair, who was armed with a knife and demanded money. The victim told the suspect he did not have any money and offered pocket change, which was refused. The suspect told the victim to leave the lot and not look back. The victim was not injured.

After leaving the lot, the victim told a CSX railroad officer that he encountered near West Main Street of the incident, and the police were notified.

Anyone with information should contact University Police at (302) 831-2222.
