Police arrest suspect in June 30 robbery

5:25 p.m., July 13, 2005--Newark Police arrested Lorenzo Webb of Otts Chapel Road in Newark on Wednesday, July 13, for the recent robbery of the Sunoco service station at 287 Elkton Rd. in Newark.

Webb and an unknown co-conspirator confronted two Sunoco employees around 3 a.m., June 30. They demanded that the cash register be opened and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured in the incident.

After further investigation and the execution of a search warrant at Webb’s residence, the police charged Webb with robbery in the first degree, conspiracy, failing to re-register an address as a sex offender, possession of a narcotic Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for keeping controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
