New Spirit Ambassadors named

1 p.m., Oct. 14, 2005--Nine students have been chosen UD Spirit Ambassadors for 2005-06.

Spirit Ambassadors encourage school spirit, interact with alumni, support the Office of Alumni and University Relations by serving as students hosts at campus events, serve as an advisory board on student concerns and represent and interact with student groups and the student body.

Only full-time undergraduates who have a minimum GPA of 2.5, have successfully completed one semester at UD, are not graduating before May 2006 and are in good standing with the Judicial Affairs Office, were considered.

UD’s new Spirit Ambassadors are:

  • Karen Anderson, CHEP ‘07, from Verona, N.J., majoring in elementary education;
  • Danielle Caby, BE ‘08, from Annandale, N.J., majoring in marketing;
  • Natalie Gempesaw-Pangan, AS ‘07, from Albuquerque, N.M., majoring in communication and international relations;
  • Lydia Hume, CHEP ‘07, from Wynnewood, Pa., majoring in hotel, restaurant and institutional management;
  • Jonathan Klein, AS ‘07, from Medford, N.J., majoring in international relations;
  • Laura Milazzo, CHEP/AS ‘08, from Corning, N.Y., majoring in individual and family studies;
  • Eugene Paulus, AS ’07, from Hockessin, Del., majoring in biological sciences;
  • Stephen Shallo, AS ‘07, from Eastchester, N.Y., majoring in political science; and
  • Ming-Jay Shiao, EG ‘06, from Stow, Ohio, majoring in electrical engineering.
