UD Police investigate Pencader robbery

10:51 a.m., Feb. 22, 2005--University Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in a Pencader C residence hall room about 7:20 p.m., Monday, Feb. 21.

When a resident responded to a knock on his door, three men were standing there, then pushed the door open and entered the room.

The student and a guest were forced to sit on a bed while the three suspects searched the room for items of interest. They took a laptop computer, a backpack containing a paintball gun, a video game player, a couple of jerseys and approximately $40 in cash. No weapons were implied or displayed, and no one was injured.

The three suspects are described as one being 6’4” with a thin build, the second 5’10” and the third 5’11” with a short haircut.

Responding officers set up a perimeter and checked vehicles leaving the Laird Campus area. A New Castle County Police Department canine unit responded and tracked the suspects from Pencader C.

Anyone with information is asked to contact University Police at (302) 831-2222.
