Jones, art collector and University of Delaware benefactor, is featured in the February issue of the new Savoy magazine. He discussed why he gave the Paul R. Jones Collection of works by 20th-Century African American artists to UD, saying, The goal is to weave African American art into American art. Jones said that UD has one of the leading American art history programs in the nation and one of the best art conservation programs in the world. Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, was quoted in a Feb. 25 New York Post story on the board of directors of Morgan Stanley. David Legates, director of the University of Delaware Center for Climatic Research, was quoted in a Feb. 25 News Journal story on the snowstorm. He explained why the daytime snow did not stick to highway surfaces. Kimmie Meissner, a competitor with the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club who is preparing to lead the U.S. national team at the International Skating Unions World Junior Championships, was featured in the Feb. 24 USA Today. John Antil, associate professor of business administration, was quoted in a Feb. 24 News Journal story on the value of Jeff Gordons Daytona 500 victory to race car sponsor DuPont. "Anytime you sponsor an athlete and he wins, so do you," Antil said. "You get that much more exposure." Stefani Baxter, a research associate with the Delaware Geological Survey, was quoted in a Feb. 24 News Journal story on small earthquakes that rattled Maryland and Delaware.
