Chemical engineering, chemistry grads in top 10 3:57 p.m., Feb. 28, 2005--The American Chemical Society (ACS) has ranked UD ninth in the nation in the number of ACS-certified chemical engineering doctoral graduates and 10th in ACS-certified bachelors degree graduates in 2003. In the Feb. 7 edition of Chemical & Engineering News, ACS ranked chemistry and chemical engineering programs across the nation in order of the number of ACS-certified bachelors, masters and doctoral students graduated during the 2002-03 school year. UDs chemical engineering program conferred 13 doctorates, making it the ninth most prolific of the 193 schools that have ACS-approved doctoral programs. UDs chemistry program placed 10th out of 630 schools, with 37 bachelors degree graduates who were ACS-certified after completing a curriculum that satisfies its committee on professional training requirements.
