Prof. Burmeister featured in online video

10:15 a.m., Feb. 9, 2005--The newest installment of UD’s Windows on The Green video, posted at [www.udel.edu/PR/windows/], spotlights John Burmeister, Alumni Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

The video profiles Burmeister, who, after 41 years at the University, is now teaching chemistry to a second generation of UD students.

Burmeister proposed UD’s environmental chemistry concentration, the first such program to be accredited by the American Chemical Society.

He joins five other named professors profiled thus far in the Windows on The Green series, which presents video snapshots on this distinguished group of faculty members who enrich the intellectual life of the University. Additional profiles are being prepared for the series by the Office of Public Relations and Information Technologies-University Media Services.

The Windows on The Green series was initiated to mark the endowment of UD’s 100th named professorship last year. An endowed chair is one of the highest honors a faculty member can receive and one of the most important gifts a donor can make to the University.
