Serafin String Quartet concert set Feb. 6

10:51 a.m., Jan. 11, 2005--The Serafin String Quartet will perform a program of classical music in the Festival Concert Series at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 6, at the First & Central Church in Wilmington.

Highlights of the performance, which will be the quartet’s second appearance in the series this season, will include Beethoven’s Quartet in G Major and Schubert’s Rosamunda Quartet in A Minor, among others. Pianist William Ransom will join the quartet in a special presentation of Schumann’s Piano Quartet in E-flat Major.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors and $5 for children ages 8-15.

Now in its third season as ensemble-in-residence at the First & Central Church, the quartet’s 2004-05 concert engagements also include performances at Carnegie Hall, University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers University, Temple University and University of Delaware. The group has collaborated with such internationally renowned artists as cellist Jeffrey Solow, flutist Laura Gilbert and pianist Read Gainsford.
