Seniors select class gift 2:58 p.m., March 15, 2004--Members of the senior class graduating in May 2004 and January 2005 have voted on their class gift and have selected replacing the trees in front of Old College that were destroyed during hurricane Isabel as their legacy to the University. According to senior Amy Stull, who is in charge of marketing for the Senior Class Gift Committee, 695 votes were cast online, with 40 percent voting to replace the trees. Other options were a scholarship fund, a walkway in front of Morris Library and a walkway from the new Marriott Hotel to Clayton Hall. The senior class committee has set a goal of $15,000, Stull said, and will be collecting pledges and donations for the next three months to achieve the goal. To date, $5,765 has been received. Pledges and donations are being sought from students, student organizations, parents and friends, and donations may be made by check, cash, credit cards or UD Flex accounts. Tables will be set up around campus to collect for the class gift in April and May. For more information or to make a pledge online, visit [www.udel.edu/seniorclass].
