Alumna Cynthia Fowler (Ph.D. 2002) has just published Locating American Art: Finding Art's Meaning in Museums, Colonial Period to the Present (Ashgate, 2016), with a dedication to the late Professor William Innes Homer and acknowledgement also to Professor Wayne Craven.
Alumna Ingrid Steffensen (Ph.D. 1994) presented a lecture at UD on April 9 as part of the President's Leadership Series. The talk focused not on her impressive art historical scholarship, including books about the architecture of art museums and the New York Public Library, but on her second career as a race car driver and her recent book Fast Girl. Alumna Catherine Holochwost (Ph.D. 2011), the Patricia and Phillip Frost Postdoctoral Fellow at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, gave a lecture in Washington, D.C. on June 6, 2013, entitled "Chasing Pigs and Milking Cows: Interpreting Play in Asher B. Durand's Doors for Mr. Reed's Gallery." Catherine has also just accepted a tenure-track position teaching American art at La Salle University in Philadelphia.
