Scholar-led tour of The Cloisters and Luncheon in Midtown Manhattan
Saturday, September 29, 2012
7:00 am - 10:00 pm
The Cloisters (New York, NY)
UD guests will have the rare opportunity to be escorted through The Cloisters by specialists who know it best. Visitors will be guided through the collections that include the famed Unicorn Tapestries by Professor Lawrence Nees, a renowned member of UD’s Department of Art History and President of the International Center of Medieval Art at The Cloisters, and two distinguished scholar-colleagues, Leslie Busis Tait and Danielle Oteri. The day will start at 7:00 am with a bus departing from Arsht Hall on UD’s Wilmington Campus. After visiting The Cloisters and its four-acre garden setting overlooking the Hudson River, guests will enjoy a three-course meal at Brasserie Cognac in midtown Manhattan. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure before the group reassembles at 7:00 pm at the 53rd Street side of the Museum of Modern Art for the return trip.
The cost is $100 per person and includes transportation, the program, and lunch. Early registration is encouraged; space is limited. The UD Alumni Association has provided funding support for this event.
