The City of Newark and DelDOT are updating the traffic signal at Main Street and North College Avenue near the Trabant Student Center. Starting the week of Jan. 12 (weather permitting), the traffic lights will change their sequence: the vehicle right turn green arrow for North College Avenue will come first, followed by the all-way pedestrian walk signal. Pedestrians are asked to please wait until the vehicles have cleared the intersection and cross during the pedestrian walk signal only. Instructional signs will be installed at the intersection to provide an overview of the changes to pedestrians.

This change aims to reduce conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles. Please use caution as everyone gets used to the new signal pattern.
