TEXT SIZE

2:34 p.m., Oct. 13, 2015--Faculty who are new to the University of Delaware, as well as those who just may be new to research, are invited to attend the University’s New Faculty Orientation: Introduction to UD Research and Scholarship on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center.

The Research Office annually hosts an orientation session designed to give those who are relatively new to UD an overview of research at the University.

Research Stories

Chronic wounds

UD's Millicent Sullivan and Kristi Kiick have received a $1.4 million grant from the National Institutes of Health for research that could provide a new approach to the treatment of chronic wounds.

Prof. Heck's legacy

The American Chemical Society is highlighting the legacy of the late Nobel laureate Richard Heck, the Willis F. Harrington Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at the University of Delaware with a digital tribute on its publications website.

Faculty in attendance will have the opportunity to meet and interact with Charles G. Riordan, deputy provost for research and scholarship, and research deans from each of the seven colleges, as well as leaders in areas such as research contracts and grants, communications, computing and funding.

In addition, attendees will hear from a panel composed of early career faculty who will share their experiences launching a successful research program and lessons learned, in areas ranging from finding mentors and collaborators, to proposal writing, course development, advising students and postdocs, work-life balance and service responsibilities.

Register to attend by Monday, Nov. 2, at this website. Those with questions or who encounter difficulty with registration can contact Jenn Roth.
