Genentech's Lee to deliver Jack Gerster Memorial Lecture
8:12 a.m., Nov. 12, 2015--Ann Lee, Genentech Inc. senior vice president and head of global technical development for Roche, will deliver the Jack A. Gerster Memorial Lecture at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20, in 102 Colburn Laboratory on the University of Delaware campus in Newark.
The lecture is part of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering seminar series.

Lee will discuss “Innovations in Technical Development and Manufacturing of Targeted Oncology Drugs.”
At Genentech, Lee is responsible for the development, implementation and support of clinical and commercial production processes and technologies.
She leads cell culture, purification, formulation, devices, packaging, analytical development, project management and pilot plant operations teams.
Lee was previously employed by Merck and Co., where she held several leadership positions in vaccine development and then served as vice president of chemical technology and engineering, responsible for global chemical technical support and process engineering in the manufacturing division.
Lee is an author on more than 35 scientific articles and an inventor on three issued patents and numerous patent applications. She is a fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering and serves on several academic and scientific advisory boards, and is associate editor of Biotechnology and Applied Biochemistry.
Lee holds a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University and graduate degrees in biochemical engineering from Yale University.
