Apply to become one of UD's first Hatch House resident-entrepreneurs

1:44 p.m., Nov. 4, 2015--Next fall, five University of Delaware students or recent graduates will become the University’s first ever Hatch House resident-entrepreneurs, and will live and work in a space especially designed for startup teams.

UD’s Horn Program in Entrepreneurship invites all current students and recent graduates to apply to become part of Hatch House, which offers resident-entrepreneurs a wealth of resources to help their ideas grow, like:

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.
  • A growing network of mentors, investors and advisers;
  • Computers, prototyping and photography equipment, software licenses and other high-tech resources;
  • 24/7 access to office space and onsite resources at the Horn Program’s Venture Development Center (VDC); and
  • Hands-on guidance.

Steve Boerner, founder and president of Hatch House Ventures and adjunct faculty member for the Horn Program, worked with building owner, UD alumnus and Horn Program Advisory Board member Jeff Lang of Lang Development to secure the very in-demand living space on 132 E. Delaware Ave., above the VDC.

The Horn Program encourages all students and recent graduates to apply for this unique opportunity to live, work and innovate with like-minded individuals in an entrepreneurial environment.
